Geoinformatics Exploration Inc. (TSX-V:GXL) has commissioned a software development project through Fractal Technologies to support further progress of the “Geoinformatics Process”, its unique approach to mining exploration.
The collaboration between the two companies will focus on bringing together the benefits of FracSISTM and the recently-developed Fractal Technologies Spatial Data Server (SDS) products. This will provide secure, auditable data management, with data managed in SDS directly accessible by FracSIS.
Geoinformatics Exploration Inc. is a long time user of Fractal Technologies’ FracSIS software, a 3D visualisation tool, as part of their approach for moving from raw, field-collected information through to 3D modeling and targeting. Fundamental to this process is the assurance that all data is collected, validated and integrated within a 3D environment.
Establishing a link between the two Fractal Technologies products is a key component of the planned year long collaboration. Connectivity between FracSIS and Fractal Technologies Spatial Data Server will allow a user to utilise FracSIS to access live 3D data sets in a way that maintains data integrity, or to use the power of the FracSIS environment on a current data snapshot to develop exploration or mine overviews. In addition the project will extend the FracSIS software visualisation component to link multiple FracSIS “Views” so that abstract data views and geospatial views can interact.
"At Geoinformatics Exploration we are focused on ensuring that the valuable 3D data is integrated and part of our total exploration review", commented Darren Holden, Vice President Geoscience Services, Geoinformatics Exploration Inc. "With a leading edge visualisation and data management approach we can make sure that our people spend their time extracting the maximum benefit from crucial data resources".
Mark Morrison, Technical Director Fractal Technologies noted, "This joint development project is important to the ongoing success of both companies. We are keen to see our R&D efforts producing innovative industry approaches to exploration and we are pleased Geoinformatics Exploration see significant value in being a leader in the application of these developments to exploration projects".
